Description
Assembly model 1/35 German tank Leopard 1 A5 Italeri 6481
The Leopard 1 tank, which entered service around the mid-1960s, formed the basis of the armored units of Federal Germany and some NATO forces during the Cold War. The role of the Leopard was decisive, since it was faced with the task of countering the huge masses of tanks that could be deployed by the Warsaw Pact armies. It was armed with the proven 105 mm L7 cannon, capable of using a variety of ammunition types. The A5 version represents a decisive improvement through the use of a modified turret that can accommodate new computerized target identification and fire control systems. Additional composite polycarbonate armor was also adopted, which can significantly increase protection and resistance to hits.
