Description
The Fiat CR.42 Falco ("Falcon") is a single-seat biplane fighter that was the main fighter of the Regia Aeronautica (Italian Air Force) in the initial period of World War II.
The aircraft was developed by the Fiat design bureau under the leadership of Celestino Rosatelli. Serial production was carried out from February 1939 to June 1944 at the Fiat plant in Turin. A total of 1,782 aircraft were produced.
The Fiat CR.42 LW was an attack version of the German Luftwaffe. It was distinguished by bomb weapons and fire extinguishers.
