The BT-7 is a Soviet wheeled-tracked light tank developed in the late 1930s and adopted by the Red Army. It was a further development of the series of fast BT tanks, started by engineer Mikhail Koshkin.
The BT-7 was one of the most popular and successful Soviet tanks at the beginning of World War II. It was known for its high speed and maneuverability, which allowed it to operate successfully in operational maneuver warfare.

At the beginning of the Second World War, the BT-7 turned out to be one of the main tanks of the Red Army. It was actively used in battles against advancing German troops, however, over time, its insufficient armor and limited ammunition capacity for the gun became a problem.
