The Pz.Kpfw.V Panther tank is considered by many specialists to be one of the best tanks of World War II. Reliable armor and powerful firepower made this tank a dangerous opponent on the battlefield. Various combat vehicles were manufactured at its base, including the Bergepanther armored recovery and evacuation vehicle (BREM)*. It was first used during the Battle of Kursk in 1943. Bergepanther could perform the functions of a tank tractor, a mobile tank workshop or a mobile power generator. Its armor protection made it possible to evacuate damaged tanks under the influence of enemy fire.
