T-55 is a Soviet medium tank.
The main tank was created taking into account the main and medium tanks T-54. Adopted for service with the Soviet Army of the USSR in 1958. Produced from 1958 to 1979. The T-55 tank is the world's first serial tank equipped with an automatic anti-nuclear protection system (PAZ) - a pioneer of a new generation of combat vehicles capable of conducting combat operations in conditions where the enemy uses nuclear weapons.
