Battleships (dreadnoughts) of the König type were built according to the German shipbuilding programs of 1911-1913. During August-November 1914, they became part of the High Seas Fleet (Hochseeflotte), in the 3rd battleship squadron. Dreadnoughts were distinguished by reliable booking, which proved its effectiveness in naval battles of the First World War, including in the famous Battle of Jutland (end of May 1916). The dreadnoughts carried ten 305 mm guns as their main armament, each of which could fire 405 kg shells at a range of up to eighteen kilometers, and their power plant allowed them to reach a speed of 21 knots.
