UH-1 Iroquois— a military helicopter with one gas turbine engine, made according to the classic scheme with a steering propeller (KG). The helicopter was developed in 1952 by Bell Helicopter for the US Army as a vehicle for rescuing the wounded and delivering. The first flight was made on October 20, 1956. The helicopter was put on the assembly line in 1960. It was the first gas turbine helicopter of the US Army. The helicopter proved its feasibility during the Vietnam War. There it was nicknamed "Huey" from its HU-1 designation. During the war, approximately 7,000 helicopters were shipped to Vietnam.
