Messerschmitt Me 262 is a German jet fighter, bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War. The first serial jet fighter in history.
In October 1938, on the instructions of the Reich Ministry of Aviation, the Messerschmitt company began designing an experimental aircraft for flight tests of BMW's P3302 turbojet engines with a thrust of 600 kg.
