LAV-R (eng. Light armored recovery vehicle) is an American, modern, wheeled technical support and evacuation vehicle. The first vehicles of this type entered service with the US Marine Corps in 1986. Drive is provided by a single Detroit Diesel 6V53T engine with 275 hp. The trolley is 7.24 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. The curb weight of the car is 12.8 tons. Armament consists of one 7.62 mm machine gun.
