Description
West German combat reconnaissance vehicle, adopted by the reconnaissance battalions of the Bundeswehr in 1976. The body of the vehicle is all-welded steel. The turret is armed with a double-sided cannon, for which there are 375 rounds. The rotation of the tower and the rise of the gun is carried out using amplifying mechanisms. A 20-mm cannon and a 7.62-mm MG3 anti-aircraft machine gun are installed on the roof of the tower, there are 1000 rounds for it. “SpPz 2 Luchs” moves through the water at a speed of 9 km / h with the help of two rotary propellers located at the stern. The maximum land speed is 90 km/h both forward and backward. The vehicle is equipped with navigational equipment, a NBC protection system, a radio station, night vision devices, and an engine and transmission oil battery heater.
