The T-26 is a Soviet light tank that was developed in the late 1920s and was widely used between the two world wars and early in World War II. It became one of the most popular tanks in the Soviet army and beyond.
The T-26 was effective against tanks and infantry in the early stages of the war, but by the early 1940s it was already outdated and could not withstand the more powerful German tanks. However, its widespread use and relative ease of maintenance made it possible to use it in significant quantities in the early years of the Second World War.
