B1 is a French medium tank of the 1930s. It was developed since 1921, and in March 1934 it was adopted. During the period of serial production from 1935 to June 15, 1940, 403 B1 tanks were produced in various variants. The tank was actively used in battles with German troops in May - June 1940, and despite its simple design, the tank demonstrated high security. Almost half of the machines produced (161 units) after the surrender of France were captured by the Wehrmacht and marked according to the departmental rubric of the Ministry of Arms. Pz. Kpfw. B2 740 (f) was used by him until 1945, also serving as the basis for the creation of 16 self-propelled artillery installations and 60 flame-throwing tanks at their base.
