M2 "Bradley" is the main infantry fighting vehicle in service with the mechanized forces of the US Army. The Bradley tracked platform was created on the basis of the vehicle.
The M2 "Bradley" infantry fighting vehicle entered service in 1981 after long-term tests that began in 1964. The combat vehicle received its own name in honor of the legendary American general of World War II, Omar Bradley.
The BMP is designed to provide transportation of motorized infantry units on the battlefield, their combat from the vehicle and fire support during and after dismounting.
It was used by American troops in the Gulf and Iraq wars. Since 2023, the vehicles have also been used by Ukrainian forces during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
