The AT-P was originally developed as an artillery tractor for the 85 mm D-48 field gun and 100 mm T-12 field gun in the Soviet Union in the early 1950s, but was later adopted as an armored personnel carrier in Third World countries.
In most countries of the former Soviet Union, it has been replaced by MT-LB. Essentially, the AT-P is an armored crate on tracks with a driver at the front left and a machine gunner at the front right.
The AT-P's rear engine is a ZIL-123F gasoline engine with only 110 horsepower, so it's lucky that the AT-P is a passenger car.
