T-72B (Object 184) - Soviet main battle tank of the T-72 family. The tank was designed in the process of improving the T-72A. Development work was carried out from 1981 to 1984. Adoption took place in 1984.
Serial production began in 1985. In the period from 1974 to 1990, Uralvagonzavod alone produced 20,544 T-72 tanks of various modifications. In total, about 30,000 tanks were produced.
