Panzer II, Pz.Kpfw II (full name - Panzerkampfwagen II, also known as Sd Kfz 121) is a German light tank of the Second World War.

Developed in 1937. It was produced in various modifications until 1942. At the beginning of World War II, these tanks accounted for 38 percent of the Wehrmacht's tank fleet. In battles, they proved to be weaker in terms of armament and armor than almost all enemy tanks of a similar class: Polish 7TR, French R35 and H35, Soviet T-26 and BT. Only in 1942, they were removed from the tank regiments and partially used either in assault artillery brigades or in secondary areas of the front.
