The Crusader XM2001 155mm self-propelled howitzer has fully automated ammunition handling and firing, allowing it to fire 48 airborne rounds at a rate of up to ten rounds per minute at ranges exceeding 40 km. The first shots of the mission can be fired in 15–30 seconds. The Crusader also has the ability to fire multiple rounds to simultaneously engage a target (MRSI). One Crusader vehicle can simultaneously hit one target with up to eight projectiles. The digital fire control system calculates individual firing decisions for each of the eight projectiles.
