"Bergepanther" (German Bergepanther), full designation "Armored repair and recovery vehicle "Panther"" (German Bergepanzerwagen Panther) is a German armored repair and recovery vehicle (ARRV) of the Second World War. According to the German departmental system of designations of military equipment, the vehicle bore the index Sd.Kfz.179. It was created in March-June 1943 on the chassis of the medium tank Pz.Kpfw.V "Panther" and was intended for the evacuation of heavy armored vehicles, such as the "Panther" itself and the "Tiger". During serial production, which lasted from June 1943 until February or April 1945, according to various sources, from 290 to 347 "Bergepanthers" were produced, which were used by German troops on all fronts
