The AML-90 (Auto Mitrailleuse Légère, or "Light Machine Gun Car") is a fast, long-range and relatively cheap armored vehicle with excellent reconnaissance capabilities. Designed on a small, lightly armored 4×4 chassis, it weighs approximately 5.5 tons and is suitable for air deployment. The AML-90 was designed to perform rearguard tasks and replace heavier tanks and armored fighting vehicles that are deployed more linearly at the front.
