Mercedes-Benz 170 V (internal index W136) is a series of cars of the German brand Mercedes-Benz, produced from the beginning of 1936 to 1955. The public debut of the 170 V model as the successor to the W15 (170) took place in February 1936. The letter "V" in the name means "Vorne" (front), and was necessary to distinguish this car from the Mercedes-Benz 170H ("Heck" - rear) - with the same engine, but installed at the rear. Between 1936 and 1939, the cars of this series were the best-selling of all Mercedes-Benz vehicles of the pre-war period.
