In 1939, the Renault company began the development of hoodless trucks of the AN series for the French army. One of them is an AHN truck with a carrying capacity of 3.5 tons. The car was equipped with a 6-cylinder engine and had a drive only on the rear axle. Production began in March 1941 under the direction of the German occupation administration.
AHN trucks were widely used by all branches of the German army throughout the war everywhere - on the Soviet-German front, in Italy and France. Total for 1941-1944. about 4,000 AHN cars were produced.
