The Four Wheel Drive Auto Company (FWD) was a pioneering American company that designed and manufactured four-wheel drive automobiles.
During World War I, the U.S. Army ordered 15,000 three-ton, front-wheel-drive Model B trucks called the 1917 Model 3-Ton Truck, over 14,000 were actually delivered; additional orders came from Great Britain and Russia.
