Dimensions of the finished model: Length 222.5 mm; Width 84.8 mm.
Development of the Japanese Type 75 self-propelled howitzer began in 1969. The first prototype was built in 1971. This artillery system entered service with the JGSDF in 1975.
Production of the Type 75 ceased in 1988, with a total of 201 howitzers built. The Type 75 was not exported, as Japanese laws do not allow the export of military vehicles.
The Type 75 is now gradually being replaced by the Type 99 self-propelled howitzer.
