The Kozak-2 armored car, owned by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, was developed by the Ukrainian enterprise Praktika Scientific and Production Association in 2009. Initially, a prototype was produced under the name SRM-1 "Cossack", but serial production was not started at that time for several reasons. Subsequently, in 2014, Praktika specialists began designing a new armored vehicle based on the SRM-1 "Kozak" using the Iveco Eurocargo chassis. By the spring of 2015, the Kozak-2 variant was presented. This armored car belongs to the MRAP class of combat vehicles, designed to protect the crew from mines and ambushes. Its functions include patrolling, escorting vehicles, communications and fire support for combat personnel.
