The Daimler-Benz company in 1941 designed the L1500S chassis with a carrying capacity of 1.5 tons. Most of these chassis received closed bodies for the 8-man fire brigade (LLG). TSA trailers were equipped with a fire pump. The equipment also included ladders and fire hoses.

By the end of 1944, about 3,850 LLGs had been produced on all types of chassis. Cars on the Daimler-Benz chassis were extremely strong and reliable.

From 1943, the L1500S LLG fire engines were renamed LF 8. They were used by German fire brigades for several years after the war.
