MS Beagle is a ten-gun brig-sloop of the "Cherokee" type, the second ship of the Royal Navy of Great Britain to bear this name. Named after the beagle dog breed (English beagle). During the celebration of the coronation of George IV, the "Beagle" was the first to pass under the new London Bridge. From December 27, 1831 to October 2, 1836, he took part in a research expedition in which Charles Darwin took part. In the entire history of the British Royal Navy, eight ships bore the name "Beagle", but only this one gained worldwide popularity.
