Haguro is a heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy that took part in World War II.
The ship, which belonged to the Myoko-class cruisers, was built in 1929 at the Mitsubishi shipyard in Nagasaki.
It is known that on August 20-21, 1937, against the backdrop of the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War, Haguro, together with a large group of heavy cruisers and destroyers, set off for the coast of Central China, where fighting began in Shanghai on August 13. The detachment sent troops here, and on August 22, a Japanese landing took place a few dozen kilometers east of Shanghai, which reduced the pressure of Chinese troops on the much smaller garrison that the Japanese had maintained
