Assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Airborne Assault Forces of Ukraine were created in 2017 on the basis of the existing High Mobility Airborne Forces, which at that time already had their own separate command. According to their purpose, the units and units of the Airborne Assault Troops are divided into amphibious and assault troops; to increase the impact potential, tank units were introduced into their composition; in 2022, a separate hunting brigade was added. Assault troops are characterized by a high level of combat readiness, mobility, the ability to independently perform tasks in difficult conditions, high motivation and morale. A feature of their everyday and formal clothes is a burgundy beret. Since 2014, this type of troops has been actively participating in hostilities, first in the southwest, and with the beginning of full-scale hostilities in other regions of Ukraine.
