The UH-1Y Venom is a twin-engine medium-role multirole helicopter built by Bell Helicopter under the H-1 upgrade program for the US Air Force. One of the last of the Huey series, the UH-1Y is also called the Yankee, due to a later variant.
After entering service in 2008, the UH-1Y is in mass production to replace all UH-1N Twin Hueys, which are light multirole helicopters introduced in the early 1970s. The UH-1Y was supposed to be converted from the UH-1N, but in 2005 the release of the new machines was approved.
