The P.11g aircraft was a version of the P.11c – a development of inż. Construction of Puławski P.6 under the supervision of Eng. Vsevolod Yakimyuk.
Already in 1937, the possibility of installing a more powerful Mercury VIII engine with 840 hp was considered for the P.11c. This idea was abandoned because calculations showed that even with a more powerful engine the plane would not exceed 400 km/h. When the production of Jastrząb (Falcon) fighters with this engine was stopped in April 1939, the Air Force command decided to order a new version of the already outdated fighter. The decision was made to use the supply of 150 already produced engines for the newly built P.24 and P.11c fighters. An order was placed for 90 vehicles of the new version - R.11g, called "Kobuz".
