JF-17 Thunder or Chengdu FC-1 Xiaolong is a light single-engine multi-role fighter-bomber of the 4th generation of joint Pakistani-Chinese development. Developed and manufactured by the Pakistani company PAC (Pakistan Aeronautical Complex) and the Chinese company (CAC) (Chengdu Aircraft Corporation). The JF-17 can be used for aerial reconnaissance, as an attack aircraft and as a fighter-interceptor.[3] Its name "JF-17 Thunder" used by Pakistan is an abbreviation of "Joint Fighter-17 Thunder" (Thunder), while the name used by the PRC "FC-1 Xiaolong" means "Fighter China-1 Fierce Dragon".
