Developed by Fokker in 1917, the D.VII quickly gained a reputation as one of the best fighters of World War I due to its robust construction and powerful armament. Equipped with a Mercedes-Benz D.IIIa engine, it combined excellent performance with reliability and firepower. The Fokker D.VII became one of the main aircraft in the German air force and played a key role in the last battles of the war. In accordance with the terms of the Treaty of Versailles after the end of the war, the Fokker D.VII was one of the few aircraft that the Allies required Germany to dismantle due to its excellent performance.
