I-15 (Russian: И-15) is a Soviet single-engine one-and-a-half-plane fighter of the 1930s, created by M. M. Polikarpov.
In the early 1930s, the aircraft had no equal in speed and maneuverability, was stable in all flight modes, easy to pilot and had good take-off and landing qualities, as well as good repair properties and survivability.
On a somewhat lighter I-15 GK, pilot V. K. Kokkinaki set a world record for the height of the climb without cargo on November 21, 1935 - 14,675 meters.
Further developments of the I-15 were the I-15 bis and the I-153 "Chaika"
