The Bf 109 K-4 is the latest and most improved version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter, which became one of the most famous and successful fighters of World War II. The K-4 version was developed to improve combat performance and remained in service until the end of the war. The first flight took place in 1944. The Bf 109 K-4 was equipped with a Daimler-Benz DB 605 D engine, which developed about 1,850 hp. This engine allowed a maximum speed of about 710 km / h (440 mph) at altitude. The Bf 109 K-4 entered combat in late 1944 and remained in service until the end of the war. It was one of the most effective fighters in the later stages of the conflict, and saw action over Europe against other Allied fighters and in the defense of German airspace.
