The Nakajima A6M2-N is a Japanese World War II seaplane, also known by the nickname "Rufe". It was developed by Nakajima as a modification of the famous Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter aircraft, intended for operations from water. The prototype's first flight took place in September 1942, and production of the A6M2-N began in 1943. The aircraft was used primarily in waterborne operations such as patrols and attacks on sea targets.
