Description
The legendary P-51 Mustang was one of the best fighters of the Second World War. This aircraft was developed by North American Corporation for the British Air Force. The proven sample NA-73X made its first flight on October 26, 1940. In Great Britain, the plane was named Mustang. The USAAF was also interested in the new fighter and designated it the P-51. The Mustangs produced by the Dallas factory were meant to be the P-51C. Aircraft supplied by the British Air Force on a Lend-Lease basis were designated Mustang Mk.III. A bubble dome named "Malcolm Hood" was installed on them. This made it possible to improve the view from the cockpit.
