Length: 331.5 mm Wingspan: 391 mm Height: 120.5 mm

As the world's first operational jet fighter, the Messerschmitt Me262 was one of the most advanced aircraft of its time. Development of this aircraft began as early as 1938, and the first prototype made its first flight (still equipped with a piston engine) in April 1941. The first version with a jet engine flew in July 1942. Full-scale production began in November 1943, but two main aspects, one political and one technical, stopped its rapid introduction into combat units at the front. The political factor was that the aircraft was to be used as a high-speed bomber rather than a fighter, and it was not until late 1944-early 1945 that the aircraft was officially authorized to be used as a fighter.
