The F-7Ⅱ is an aircraft developed from the F-7I. The first flight took place on December 30, 1978. Major modifications included: self-designed ejection seats and equipment instead of the previously Russian-designed ones, a rear-opening cockpit with fixed forward windshields, and a modified Pen-7 engine that solved the problem of high temperatures in the rear fuselage. The parachute is located at the end of the vertical tail with enlarged fuel tanks
