The M270 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System, also known as SPLL (Self-Propelled Loader/Launcher)) is an American universal launcher used as an MLRS and tactical missile launcher. Developed by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. The launcher is mounted on the tracked base of the American Bradley platform. It was adopted by the US ground forces in 1983. It is in service in 16 countries of the world. Including in Finland and Norway.
The M270A1 was the result of the 2005 US Army upgrade program. The missile looks identical to the M270, but includes an advanced fire control system (IFCS).
