T-72B3 is the main battle tank of the T-72 family.
The T-72B3 modification was developed as an economical alternative to the main tank T-90A of the new generation of tanks, the T-14. It is a relatively simple modernization of the T-72B tank, with some parameters brought to the level of the T-90A.
Currently, the T-72B3 is being modernized to replace the existing T-72B; modernization of earlier versions of the T-72 to the T-72B3 level is impossible.
