The SdKfz 7 is a half-tracked military vehicle used by the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS during World War II.
The development of the SdKfz 7 dates back to a 1934 need for an eight-ton half-track military vehicle. The vehicle first appeared in 1938 and was intended to be used primarily as a tractor for an 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun and a 15 smsfh 18150mm howitzer.
The vehicle could carry artillery crews of up to 12 people in theater-type seats. At the rear of the vehicle was an enclosed ammunition storage compartment. The tractor could tow loads up to 8000 kg in weight. Most of them were equipped with a winch.
