Char B1 is a French heavy tank of the 1930s. It was developed since 1921. It was accepted into service in March 1934. It was mass-produced from 1935 to June 15, 1940, a total of 403 B1 tanks in various versions were produced. B1 was actively used in battles with German troops in May-June 1940, despite the archaic design, it showed good protection. Almost half of the vehicles produced were captured by the Wehrmacht after the capitulation of France and were used by them until 1945, also serving as the basis for the creation of self-propelled artillery units and flamethrower tanks on their base.
