MBT Leopard 1 A3/A4 had a crew of four. It was equipped with a 105-mm L7A3 rifled gun. Length - 9.54 m (cannon forward); width – 3.37 m; combat mass – 42.4 tons; maxi highway speed – 65 km/h. It was powered by a water-cooled MB 838 CaM 500 multi-fuel engine. The Leopard 1 A3 incorporated all the improvements of the Leopard 1 A2, but with a new welded spreader armor turret with a wedge-shaped weapon mask; the rear storage box of the tower is inscribed in the outline of the tower; the loader's periscope was movable both in the corner of the place and in azimuth. The Leopard 1 A4 was equipped with the same turret as the Leopard 1 A3, but had an integrated fire control system, which increased the combat effectiveness of the tank and also provided a much higher probability of hitting.
