The EE-T1 Osório is a Brazilian prototype main battle tank developed by Engesa. The tank was planned to be first sold to the Arab countries and other Third World countries, which gave impetus to the start of production and allowed the Brazilian Army to later place their own orders without the need to fund development costs. The development of the tank was initially funded by Engesa from private sources, but cash flow problems eventually led the Brazilian government to provide a loan to support the program. Two prototypes of the tank were built, but the EE-T1 was never put into service.
