M47 "General Patton II" (M47 General Patton II; Patton II) is a modernized version of the first generation M46 tank, produced in the USA since June 1951 (manufacturers - Detroit Tank Arsenal and American Locomotive Co).
On the M47 tank, the angles of inclination of the frontal sheets of the hull were increased, infrared observation devices and a heater for the crew were installed. The cast turret of the new, improved design was equipped with a modernized, more powerful 90-mm M36 cannon with an initial projectile velocity of more than 900 m/s.
