Experienced Soviet heavy tank of the interwar period. It was developed in the design bureau of the Bolshevik plant in 1929-1932. A full-size wooden model of the tank was built, but further work on it was stopped due to the futility and high complexity of the vehicle. The layout of the promising tank was classic: the control compartment in the bow, the combat compartment in the center, and the engine-transmission compartment in the stern. The T-30 tank was supposed to have a mass of 50-55 tons and be protected by armor 40-60 mm thick. The main turret, shaped like a TG tank tower, housed a long-barreled 76.2 mm divisional cannon and two machine guns (coaxial with a 76.2 mm cannon and aft).
