Chieftain ”(eng. Chieftain -“ leader ”) is a British-made main battle tank, which was in service with the army of the United Kingdom in the 60s and 70s of the XX century. Combining high firepower with powerful armor, the Chieftain was considered by specialists to be one of the strongest Western tanks of that time. For the first time, a semi-recumbent driver's seat was also installed on this machine - a design that made it possible to significantly reduce the height of the tank.
