BA-3 is a Soviet medium armored car with a gun of the 1930s on the Ford-Timken chassis. It was developed in 1934 by the design bureau of the Izhora plant based on the BA-1 model. The BA-1 hull underwent minor changes. The main difference of the new car was the turret with armament. The BA-3 received a turret from the T-26 tank with a reduced armor thickness of 8 mm with a standard twin armament installation - a 45-mm 20K gun of the 1932 model (ammunition 60 artillery rounds) and a DT machine gun. The significant ammunition was placed partly in the turret and partly in the hull of the armored car. To increase cross-country ability, for the first time in Soviet armored car production
