SU-76 is a Soviet light self-propelled artillery unit (SPG), a direct infantry support vehicle used in the German-Soviet War. The self-propelled gun is based on the T-60, T-70 light tanks and was intended for direct infantry support, had bulletproof armor. The main armament allowed it to fight light and medium enemy tanks. The lightest and most widespread type of SPG produced in the USSR during the Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan.
