The AUF1 is a 155-mm self-propelled artillery installation developed and produced by the French company Nexter (which was called "GIAT Industries") in the late 1970s.
In 1972, a prototype 155-mm self-propelled howitzer GCT (Grande Cadence de Tir) was developed. In 1979, the system was adopted by the French army under the designation 155 AUF1.
